Process: Anaerobic Slow Dry (ASD) Natural - The coffee is handpicked at the optimal maturation point and then also sorted by hand to ensure only the best cherries are selected. The coffee is processed with an anaerobic dry process for 144 hours and then sun-dried on African raised beds for 25 days.

Fragrance and Aroma: Jasmine, violets, lemongrass, and blueberry

Taste and Aftertaste: Lavender, black currant, cherry, papaya, mango, pomegranate, lychee, passion fruit, high acidity, buttery body, extremely clean, winey, intense mouthfeel, juicy, and long lasting aftertaste.   

This is our second year working with José Luttrell and Abu Coffee. This lot is similar to their anaerobic natural geisha we brought in last year (Lot 17N), but this years is even better!


About Abu Coffee

Abu Coffee was named to honor the memory of José Guillermo Luttrell Tedman, a third generation coffee producer from the Cañas Verdes region of Boquete, Chiriquí in Panama.

"ABU" (short for Abuelo, grandfather in Spanish) is what his grandchildren used to call him. His dream was to achieve the best cup of coffee with the highest standards of quality. Abu Coffee continues to live this dream by producing some of the most incredible and unique coffees available not only in Panama, but globally.
